The annual Peplink Tech Summit, hosted by West Networks, is known for showcasing Peplink’s latest technologies and fostering collaboration among enthusiasts passionate about all things Peplink. Its third installment in Hilton Orlando, Florida was no exception, highlighting innovative connectivity solutions that seamlessly powered the event. Attended by 150 professionals, the tech summit demonstrated the exceptional power of combining Peplink and Starlink to deliver reliable internet connectivity in a demanding environment.
A High-Performance Network Setup
To support the tech summit, seven Starlinks were placed on the hotel roof alongside two Dome Pro LRs and a Dome Pro Duo equipped with T-Mobile SIMs. These devices provide a total of seven LEO connections and six high-speed 5G connections, all routed to the upcoming Balance 5000 EC, a 70 Gbps powerhouse router located in the hotel hall. The setup is complemented by a 48-port PoE 2.5G switch, leveraging Peplink’s VLAN as WAN feature for enhanced routing and network management.
Despite being in a hurricane-prone zone where environmental factors reduced speeds, each Starlink delivered 50-120Mbps, while each T-Mobile SIM provided up to 800Mbps per modem. To ensure robustness, Peplink’s bonding technology was used to aggregate these connections, nearing 5 Gbps of total throughput for all attendees to access.
Full Coverage and Reliable Distribution
To provide seamless connectivity throughout the venue, the West Networks team ran fiber optic cables to each training room, where dedicated 24 PoE 2.5G Switch and AP One AXs were deployed. This configuration enabled attendees to stay connected to the private wireless network, ensuring smooth roaming with dedicated bandwidth even as they were moving between rooms and event spaces.
The Peplink and Starlink Setup in Action
The infrastructure put together by the West Networks team managed over 100 GB of data daily across the three-day event, supporting data-intensive activities and technical lab sessions. By combining Peplink’s high-performance hardware and powerful technologies with Starlink’s satellite internet, attendees no longer needed to rely on personal hotspots and cellular data. This reliable network not only showcased Peplink’s transformative solutions but also empowered the community to work, collaborate, and innovate seamlessly.
