8 July 2021 – Peplink and Assured Wireless have teamed together to create a new breed of wireless solution that combines SpeedFusion with High Power User Equipment (HPUE). This integration allows Peplink customers to add FirstNet MegaRange™ to their existing devices and allows MegaRange™ customers to gain signal heat mapping, centralized provisioning, and the powerful SpeedFusion technology to further protect mission critical applications.
FirstNet is the only network where public safety can take advantage of the highest power class signaling available in the U.S. with FirstNet MegaRange™, the HPUE solution exclusively available on Band 14. HPUE boosts transmission power up to 6x higher than traditional LTE equipment, which vastly improves cellular coverage in areas where data connectivity is traditionally unreliable, such as remote regions, rural areas, and maritime environments. It also boosts coverage in metropolitan areas that have challenges with cellular signal penetration through buildings and underground structures – helping first responders communicate inside and out.
Peplink’s SpeedFusion can bond capacity and coverage of private and commercial networks together to ensure seamless switching among FirstNet, AT&T commercial LTE, private Wi-Fi, satellite, or other technologies, without any session loss. This allows public safety users to intelligently manage their cost, security and to help ensure applications are automatically protected.
Assured Wireless’ AW12 MegaRange™ Modem is integrated with Peplink’s InControl2 management system. From a single pane of glass, the coverage of any modems can be instantly visualized, network security can be centrally managed, and each parameter of the HPUE modems can be fully controlled. InControl2 comes with universal GPS integration and fully supports API integration, so that CAD and other systems can be updated in real time.
